It got a little bit chillier in Asuncion at some point last night. I will stop short of saying cold – my rough conversion to Fahrenheit gives me about 58 – but by empirical standards, colder than it has been.

I now fully appreciate the humor that northerners enjoy when they first experience a southerner’s reaction to a Duke winter.
This morning I put on a sweater, but walking to work I saw people bundled up with hats and scarves and parkas and huddled together at the bus stop. Though this is the first time it was I who was taking the agency, the tone was unmistakably familiar.
